The lecture

'Thinking and Talking about the past; the role that museums and monuments can play' will be delivered by the distinguished Art Historian and Museum Director, Neil MacGregor OM, AO, FSA.

An Hon.Bencher of the Inn since 2015, Master MacGregor was Director of the National Gallery 1987-2002 and Director of the British Museum 2002 – 2015. Presently he is Director of the Humboldt Forum in Berlin .

His presentation will explore the theme that the student of history is not reliant solely on the written and spoken word for insight and instruction but may look to the physical world too .
