The Banned Chapter from Under the Wig
Bill Clegg QC will read from a previously banned chapter of his 2018 book Under The Wig. This chapter is about the trial of Superintendent David Duckenfield who he defended at the first Hillsborough Trial in 2000. The chapter was banned from publication due to the retrial that took place in 2019 when it was felt the chapter might influence potential jury members.
A previous Master Treasurer of Gray’s Inn, William Clegg QC fought more than 100 murder cases as well as some of the most reported on cases of recent times.
Introduced by The Rt Hon Lord Justice Irwin, Master Treasurer of Grays Inn and a Lord Justice of Appeal. Questions are most welcome and can be submitted in advance by emailing your question or on the night via Zoom chat.
