Court Pupillages (Marshalling)
We are able to arrange a Court Pupillage (also known as Marshalling) for you with a member of the Inn who sits on the Bench. This offers you an excellent chance to improve your insight into the role of the judiciary, court procedure and styles of advocacy.
A really fantastic experience. The judge could not have made me feel more welcome.
The programme is available from January of each academic year and is open to you if you are a member of the Inn and either:
- in your final year of university
- a current GDL student
- a current BPTC student
If you are participating in the scheme, you may find guidance on how to address judges and others useful.
If you have further questions regarding the programme, please email Alex Fuller in the Education Department.
If you would like to apply for a Court Pupillage please complete and submit the form below. A Court Pupillage at your first choice of court is subject to the availability of judges at the time of application.
