Qualifying Session Themes

The Qualifying Session Programme.

You must attend a minimum of ten Qualifying Sessions in order to receive sufficient opportunity to meet with and learn from a variety of practitioners, judges and experts and thereby facilitate your integration into the ‘community of practice’. 
 
Qualifying Sessions can be classified under five themes which cover all aspects of the skills and knowledge you need to learn as part of your training for the Bar:
  • Ethics, Standards and Values
  • Advocacy Skills
  • Legal Knowledge, Justice and the Rule of Law
  • Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
  • Preparation for Pupillage, Career Development and Wellbeing

Here is the breakdown:

  • Intros - Preparation for Pupillage, Career Development and Wellbeing 
  • Moots - Advocacy Skills
  • P4P (skills) - Advocacy Skills 
  • P4P (lecture) - Legal Knowledge, Justice and the Rule of Law and Preparation for Pupillage, Career Development and Wellbeing
  • Residential Weekends - Advocacy Skills and Ethics, Standards and Values and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
  • Mixed Messes - Legal Knowledge, Justice and the Rule of Law
  • Wellbeing Talks - Preparation for Pupillage, Career Development and Wellbeing
