The Burghley Lounge will be closing for the time being from Friday 16 October 2020 at 4pm due to the updated COVID alert level in London to Tier Two from Saturday 17 October.

Gray’s Inn is now certified as ‘Good to Go’ by Visit England and can now begin to host COVID secure events.

Weddings can now be held on site for up to 15 guests, plus corporate meetings up to 30 guests. Health and safety guidelines are in place, including hand sanitiser stations, NHS track and trace app QR codes, one way systems, 2M distancing etc.

The Burghley Lounge

The regular Hall lunch buffet that you are used to is not in operation, however, we are excited to open The Burghley Lounge on 5 October.

When you visit Hall, you'll be able to scan our QR code in-app to check-in and order from the menu.

The lounge will be open for breakfast, lunch and coffee, Monday to Friday 8am-4pm, in Hall or as a takeaway option.

It will be open to Members of all Inns, Residents, the employees of all Tenants of Gray’s Inn and their guests up to the government maximum of groups of 6.

Don't forget to also download and check-in with the NHS Covid-19 app.

There will be a one way system in operation and we kindly ask all guests wear a face mask at all times, except for when seated at their table. Hand sanitiser will be available at entry and exit.

Student members of all 4 Inns can enjoy a 20% discount on food in Hall! (member ID required). Discounts are also available for pupils of the Inn. 

Please note:

  • the dress code is smart casual
  • for those with special dietary requirements or allergies, who may wish to know about the food or drink ingredients used, please ask for a manager (please note: we are not a nut-free kitchen environment)
  • you can request waitress service during lunch for an extra £1.50 per person
  • advance booking is recommended for groups of 5 or more, please contact the Banqueting department or Hall Butler to book
