Russian Law Week 2016: Speaking Opportunities

Russian Law Week 2016

Monday 14 – Wednesday 16 November 2016, The Law Society, London

Opportunities for barristers

This longstanding programme of annual Russian and English Law Weeks in London and Moscow respectively, brings together Russian and UK legal practitioners and business representatives to promote legal links and business between the two countries. This is an excellent opportunity for any barristers wishing to develop their practice in relation to Russia.

Please see the programme attached. To register, please click here.

The deadline for speaker applications (attached) is has been extended to Monday 26 September 2016. The Bar Council is specifically seeking barristers who can talk on the latest developments in Russian arbitration, the new Russian law on bankruptcy and the changes to Russian corporate law; however, we would be happy to consider other suggestions/topics.

Opportunities for chambers

Russian Law Week provides chambers with access to legal practitioners and academics from Russia, the UK and other CIS region, who are looking to explore and understand the latest developments in Russian Law. This is an excellent opportunity to engage and network with both UK and Russian practitioners. Please see the sponsorship packages attached.

This year, we have enhanced the RLW programme with the addition of a third day, which is set to include roundtable discussions, a mock trial and a black tie dinner. The Bar Council is seeking chambers that would be willing to host a roundtable discussion on the morning of 16 November (thereby providing hosting chambers with an additional marketing and networking opportunity). Interested chambers should put forward an innovative topic which is not directly covered by the substantive programme.
