BPTC Scholarships

In 2020, Gray’s will award at least £1.3 million in scholarships:

  • Residential Scholarships valued at £9,500
  • BPTC scholarships up to £30,000
  • GDL scholarships up to £13,000

 I wouldn’t be able to continue my training without the funding. The scholarship is really important to the progression of my career.

2021 Applications

Applications for 2020 BPTC Scholarships are closed. 

The next application period for 2021 BPTC Scholarships:

  • opens on Friday 18 September 2020
  • closes at midnight on Friday 6 November 2020

If shortlisted, you will be interviewed in late February or early March (exact interview dates are published on the online application form).

BPTC Scholarships

To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Sex Disqualification (Removal) Act 1919, in 2019 we established The Baroness Hale of Richmond Scholarships in recognition of the lifetime achievements of our very own, Master Hale, the President of the Supreme Court.

The Hale, Bedingfield and Prince of Wales Scholarships are the Inn’s most prestigious BPTC scholarships and are reserved for outstanding candidates of exceptional merit.

2019 Scholarships

Baroness Hale of Richmond Scholarships (New for 2019) up to 4 £20,000 - £30,000
Bedingfield Scholarships up to 8  £5,000 - £30,000
Prince of Wales Scholarships up to 4 £5,000 - £30,000
Named Scholarships  up to 50  £5,000 - £30,000
Residential Scholarships  up to 14  value at £9,500

There are 14 Residential Scholarships available to those awarded a BPTC scholarship.

In 2019, additional named scholarships were established which were named after several prominent female members of the Inn to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Sex Disqualification (Removal) Act 1919.
