Deborah Spring MA (Lady Irwin) on “Lady (Anne) Bacon”.
About the Speaker
After a degree in social anthropology Deborah Spring had a career in commercial academic publishing and as publisher for the LSE and the Institute of Education, University of London. She served as a magistrate in Hertfordshire and a charity trustee, and still sits as a regulatory tribunal member. An interest in 16th century history led first to an MA in garden history at Birkbeck, for which she wrote a dissertation on the gardens of the Inns of Court, and a further MA in biography at the University of East Anglia. She is now a writer and researcher. Her new book Lady Anne Bacon: A Woman of Learning at the Tudor Court, will be published in October.
