Our barristers continue to be involved with life at the Inn.

We run regular educational events allowing you to continue to develop your knowledge and skills. For example, advocacy, ethics and advocacy and the vulnerable witness training.

You may also be interested in becoming an advocacy trainer for the Inn, please contact the Education Department.

GIBC Practitioner Mentoring Scheme

The GIBC Practitioner Mentoring Scheme can be a valuable source of support during your early years of practice. Whether you need guidance on moving into a different practice area, moving from the Self-Employed Bar to the Employed Bar (or vice-versa) or you simply have an issue that you would feel more comfortable discussing with someone outside of your Chambers or organisation, it can be a real help to have a mentor from the Inn.

Apply for the Mentoring Scheme

Barrister members are also encouraged to assist by volunteering as a Mentor. This scheme offers Gray’s Inn student, pupil and new practitioner members the opportunity to be mentored by a local barrister practising in the area of law in which they are seeking pupillage or practising.
