An introduction to advocacy and mooting at Gray’s Inn. By its nature, a workshop provides a chance to work and learn in a supportive environment.

Qualifying Sessions 

Qualifying Session (QS):  1 QS

Theme: Advocacy skills

Learning aims:

  1. Construct arguments through research, analysis and application of legal principles.
  2. Demonstrate confidence in advocacy and apply feedback from judges and moot coaches.
  3. Apply inter-personal and communication skills to prepare oral presentations both independently and/or as a member of a team
  4. Practice responding to judicial interventions.

This QS relates to the following elements of the Professional Statement for Barristers: 1.3, 1.5, 1.6, 1.8, 1.9, 1.11, 1.12, 1.13, 1.15, 1.16, 1.17, 3.4, 4.1

Preparation required: No – Required to read papers in advance, no other preparation required
