This session is designed for students who want to practice thinking on their feet in a realistic advocacy setting. The exercise is provided to students shortly before the event, allowing them to respond spontaneously. Participants will receive personalised feedback from experienced advocacy trainers on their performance, helping them refine their technique and confidence under pressure.

Qualifying Session

Qualifying Session (QS): 1 QS

Theme: Advocacy skills

Learning aims:

  1. Practise assimilating detailed information and be able to spot the ‘best’ points as well as where the main weaknesses are in the case lie.
  2. Practise delivering submissions that are clear, well-organised and persuasive.
  3. Demonstrate confidence in advocacy, incorporating feedback from trainers.

This QS relates to the following elements of the Professional Statement for Barristers:  1.3, 1.5, 1.8, 1.11, 1.15, 1.17, 2.6, 3.1, 3.4, 4.1

To be awarded the QS for this event you are required to join the event on time and stay for the full duration of the event. Please enter your full name when joining the event so that we can record attendance and update the QS records accordingly. This can take up to two weeks.
