An interactive drafting skills workshop. Students will work in small groups to work on drafting problems with barrister trainers. During the session, trainers will explain their approaches to drafting and identify common pitfalls to avoid. The drafting problems will reflect the type of written advocacy junior practitioners will encounter in their early years of practice.

Qualifying Session (QS): 1 QS

Learning aims: 

1. Consider common pitfalls/common mistakes in written advocacy for junior practitioners.
2. Discuss best practice in preparing written advocacy in the contact of different practice areas.
3. Identify sources of advice and guidance for written advocacy that can be access by junior practitioners.

1.3, 1.5, 1.6, 1.8, 1.9, 1.13, 1.14, 2.6
