The Treasurer and the Academy of St Martin in the Fields have great pleasure in inviting you to a very special evening of music-making at Gray’s Inn on Thursday 27 June. This occasion will see a chamber orchestra drawn from the Academy of St Martin the Fields’ forces, giving guests a specially-curated and intimate recital of pieces that not only shows off their unique talents but also, we hope, reflects the history and glory of this magnificent Hall.
Founded in 1958 by Sir Neville Marriner, ASMF is an orchestra renowned across the world for its commitment to the musical freedom of its players and the sharing of joyful, inspiring performances. Building on its rich global legacy, the Academy of St Martin in the Fields remains one of the world’s most recorded orchestras, igniting a love for classical music in people around the world. They have, this last year alone, delivered engagements across North America and Europe and we are delighted that they are able to join us for this occasion which draws the ASMF’s ‘Marriner 100’ commemorations to a close.
After the performance drinks and light refreshments will be served where you will have the opportunity to meet the players and get a unique insight into their life and work.
