2024 sees the return of the Revue with your host, the 2024 Gray’s Inn Treasurer, The Rt. Hon. Lord Justice Peter Coulson, he says:

“From my days as a student in the Inn, all the way through to my time as a judge, I regularly took part in the Christmas show, originally in its pantomime guise, then as a rather stuffy collection of readings and carols, through to its rebirth as the Miscellany. Although in its current form, the Miscellany is easily the most rehearsed and professional show any Inn has ever staged, I do sometimes hanker for the old days, when we at least gave the impression that we were making it up as we went along (and sometimes were).

I want to stage a revue that harks back to those early days of short, sharp pieces: songs, sketches, poetry, stand-up; quickly in and out, and on to the next thing. No theme, no concept: just, is it funny, or clever, or good? Some party pieces, no doubt, but also some fresh things too, perhaps from new performers who have never done anything in the Inn before. I shall compere the evening in my best Comedy Store manner: all I need are the pieces to introduce.

So please volunteer. We can hold some auditions, and put together a balanced show.”
