University Advocacy Day

A unique opportunity for university students who are interested in a career at the Bar of England and Wales.

We run three Advocacy Days in each academic year (in March, September and October). Places are limited for each event and by application.

The day will offer an opportunity to meet and listen to what leading barristers say are the key elements of good advocacy; to participate in a facilitated ethics discussion and get on your feet and perform some advocacy, under the guidance of advocacy trainers. The day will end with a scholarships Q&A hosted by the scholarships committee and recent Gray’s Inn scholars.

Programme

  • Talks on advocacy and the role of the Inns from barristers, including Mr Justice Mike Fordham, Master of Students

  • Advocacy and ethics training in small groups

  • Scholarships Q&A

Please contact the Education Department with any queries.
