On Thursday 9 July, we welcomed a group of aspiring barristers for the City of London scholar study day – part of the Inn’s expanding outreach schemes to support and connect with students well before they begin their Bar Course.
The day offered our undergraduate scholars the chance to meet Members of the Inn, learn more about life at the Bar, and receive tailored advice on career development, networking, and the Inn’s extensive scholarship opportunities.
Workshops led by our Members Jane Rayson, Anneka Jens, Talita Zavrsnik de Campos and Catherine McLean explored everything from how to stand out in applications to navigating the employed and self-employed Bar, and making meaningful connections in the profession.
The Inn’s undergraduate scholarships are open to students who have previously completed a Gray’s Inn outreach programme and are studying law or intending to pursue law as a graduate. These awards are an important part of our mission to ensure talented individuals from all backgrounds have access to the profession.
