She was awarded the Norman Tapp Memorial Prize and an Internship Award by Gray’s Inn followed by a Pegasus Scholarship (an award supported by all four Inns to further understanding of the common law system in other jurisdictions).
Sahana practises from Crown Office Chambers and specialises in construction disputes, corporate and personal insolvency, property damage and commercial litigation and arbitration.
“My journey to becoming a barrister started with a dinner at Gray’s Inn in 2009. I was a student on a visit arranged by my university and I didn’t know much about the Bar at all. I still vividly remember the friendly atmosphere at dinner and the fascinating conversations with the barristers who joined us, including the one which motivated me to take on my first mini-pupillage. Ever since then, I have thought of Gray’s Inn as a place that is friendly and supportive of the next generation of barristers, with a focus on the qualities that make a good advocate rather than stuffy traditions. I love coaching and mentoring students, especially during the Inn’s University Open Days with people who may never before have considered a legal career, and I hope to be able to pay forward everything I’ve learned from my time at Gray’s so far.”
