Joining an Inn of Court is a key step to becoming a barrister. At Gray’s, we pride ourselves on being a friendly welcoming home for our Members.

We offer a range of membership options, including student memberships, pathways for transferring qualified lawyers, and ad eundem membership for barristers from other Inns of Court to join Gray’s as an associate Member.

Gray’s is different

For more than six hundred years, Gray’s Inn barristers have made their mark on the world, benefiting from and contributing to the unique sense of belonging and mutual support that comes with membership. Our comparatively smaller size drives a distinctive culture that provides you with a stimulating and yet nurturing environment in which to learn.

Becoming a barrister is more than just a career – it’s the fulfilment of a calling. It is a profession with the potential to be both life-changing and life-affirming, but it is important to understand and respect the challenges that will stand in your way.

Here, you will forge the powerful personal and professional connections that will last a lifetime. You will be treated as an individual, receiving access to tailored support and training to help ensure that you rise as far, and as fast, as your own talent and determination will take you.

We run outreach events and opportunities throughout the year for anyone interested in a career at the Bar. Connect with the Inn to be the first to hear of new opportunities.
