Master Peter Gross, will be hosting the Annual Gray’s Inn and City of London Law Society Lecture this year.

Sir Peter Gross is a retired Lord Justice of Appeal. He was the Senior Presiding Judge for England and Wales from January 2013 to December 2015 and lead Judge for International Relations 2018-2019.

He chaired the Independent Human Rights Act Review (IHRAR) which examined whether the Human Rights Act 1998 is working effectively.

Sir Peter was the Master Treasurer of Gray’s Inn in 2022.

 

Speaker – The Lord Wolfson of Tredegar KC, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Justice from December 2020 to April 2022.

Lord Wolfson was Minister of Justice in the House of Lords between 2020 – 2022, and continues to practise at the Commercial Bar.

He will reflect on the continuing strength of the Rule of Law in the UK, how it has withstood recent political turbulence, and current challenges.

The lecture will be under the Chatham House Rule.
