Assessment
To receive a scholarship, a candidate must pass a written and oral assessment. For each assessment, an application is considered against three, equally weighted criteria.

Life at the Inn
The scholar will be an active participant in the academic, pastoral and social aspects of Gray’s Inn.
Representation
The scholar will act as a role model to their peers and promote the Inn to prospective Members.
Accessibility
The scholar’s prospects of a career at the Bar would be significantly enhanced through increased access to the professional, academic and pastoral life of the Inn.

Accommodation
Residential scholars have access to a scholar flat and the Walks for the duration of their tenancy.
All flats accommodate 3 or 4 scholars and are located within the Inn’s estate. Flats have private bedrooms and shared bathrooms, kitchens and living spaces.
- Chapel Scholarship
Chapel Scholarship
Residential scholars can apply for a further scholarship during their residency. The Chapel scholar will receive an additional financial award to support operations within the Gray’s Inn Chapel.
