About Michael Mustill
Lord Mustill of Pateley Bridge was called to the Bar by Gray’s Inn in 1955 and was made a Bencher in 1976. He was one of the great figures of international and domestic arbitration, as a practitioner, author, scholar, judge and arbitrator.
About Gray’s Inn
Gray’s Inn is one of the Inns of Court – the historic societies that educate and train barristers in England and Wales. For more than six hundred years, Gray’s has been home to a community of extraordinary individuals. Generations of Members have honed their craft here, standing up for truth and justice with fierce independence.
Gray’s uses income generated from commercial and residential lettings to fund a £1.4M scholarship programme each year to support talented individuals who may not have otherwise considered a career at the Bar.
About the International Dispute Resolution Centre (IDRC)
The IDRC is one of the world’s leading global facilities at which to conduct arbitrations and other forms of Alternative Dispute Resolution. From 2021, the IDRC has sponsored the Michael Mustill Scholarship to support students in funding internships or work placements, or additional arbitration-related opportunities.
