Recorder appointments
The King has appointed 26 Gray’s Inn Members as Recorders on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, The Right Honourable Alex Chalk KC MP, and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, The Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon.
The appointments will take effect on 30 May 2023.

Senior Coroner appointment
We are delighted to note that The Chief Coroner, His Honour Judge Thomas Teague KC, has welcomed the appointment of a Gray’s Inn Member as a Senior Coroner in England and Wales.
Lincolnshire County Council, as the relevant authority, have appointed Paul Smith (called by Gray’s Inn in 2002) as senior coroner for the Lincolnshire coroner area.
The appointment was made following an open competition and after receiving the consent of the Chief Coroner and Lord Chancellor.
