Matthew Barry
The King has appointed Matthew Barry to be a District Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Dominic Raab MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon.
The Lord Chief Justice has deployed him to the Wales Circuit, based at Newport County Court and Family Court with effect from Monday 28 November 2022.
Matthew Barry will be known as District Judge Barry. He was called to the Bar by Gray’s Inn in 2002. He was appointed as a Fee-paid First-tier Tribunal Judge, assigned to the Health, Education and Social Care Chamber in 2019 and as a Deputy District Judge in 2019.

Kevin Pain
The King has appointed Kevin Pain to be a District Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Dominic Raab MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon.
The Lord Chief Justice has deployed him to the Western Circuit, based at Portsmouth Combined Court Centre with effect from Monday 5 December 2022.
Kevin Pain will be known as District Judge Pain. He was called to the Bar by Gray’s Inn in 1995. He was appointed as a Deputy District Judge in 2019.
