Paul Hopkins KC
The King has appointed Paul Hopkins KC to be a Circuit Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Alex Chalk KC MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon.
The Lord Chief Justice has deployed him to the Wales Circuit, based at Cardiff Crown Court with effect from 4 October 2023.
Paul Hopkins will be known as His Honour Judge Hopkins KC. He was called to the Bar (Gray’s Inn) in 1989 and took Silk in 2009. He was appointed as a Recorder in 2005 and as Deputy High Court Judge in 2021.

Carl Harrison
The King has appointed Carl Harrison to be a Circuit Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Alex Chalk KC MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon.
The Lord Chief Justice has deployed him to the Wales Circuit, based at Cardiff Crown Court with effect from 9 October 2023.
Carl Harrison will be known as His Honour Judge Carl Harrison. He was called to the Bar (Gray’s Inn) in 1997. He was appointed as a Recorder in 2018.

Naomi Ellenbogen
Mrs Justice Ellenbogen has been appointed to the Northern Circuit where she will succeed Mrs Justice Yip.
Mrs Justice Naomi Ellenbogen was called to the Bar (Gray’s Inn) in 1992 and took silk in 2010. She was appointed as a Recorder in 2016, a Deputy High Court Judge in 2017 and a High Court Judge in November 2020.

Charlotte Crangle
The King has appointed Charlotte Crangle to be a Circuit Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Alex Chalk KC MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon.
The Lord Chief Justice has deployed her to the Northern Circuit, based at Liverpool Crown Court with effect from 02 October 2023.
Charlotte Crangle will be known as Her Honour Judge Crangle. She was called to the Bar (Gray’s Inn) in 1995. She was appointed as an Assistant Coroner in 2019 and as a District Judge (Magistrates’ Courts) in 2023.

Matthew Boyle
The King has appointed Matthew Boyle to be a Circuit Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Alex Chalk KC MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon.
The Lord Chief Justice has deployed him to the South Eastern Circuit, based at Inner London Crown Court with effect from 9 October 2023.
Matthew Boyle will be known as His Honour Judge Boyle. He was called to the Bar (Gray’s Inn) in 2000 and admitted as an ad eundem member of Lincoln’s Inn in 2023. He was appointed as a Recorder in 2019.

The Lord Chief Justice has deployed him to the North Eastern Circuit, based at Sheffield Combined Court with effect from 30 October 2023.
Peter Hampton will be known as His Honour Judge Hampton. He was called to the Bar (Gray’s Inn) in 2003. He was appointed as a Recorder in 2018.

The Lord Chief Justice has deployed her to the Northern Circuit, based at Bolton Crown Court with effect from 16 October 2023.
Abigail Hudson will be known as Her Honour Judge Abigail Hudson. She was called to the Bar (Gray’s Inn) in 2003. She was appointed as a Tribunal Judge in the Social Entitlement Chamber in 2011, as a Recorder in 2012, and as a Tribunal Judge in the Health, Education and Social Care Chamber in 2018.

Bilal Siddique will be known as His Honour Judge Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Siddique. He was called to the Bar (Gray’s Inn) in 1996. He was appointed as a Deputy District Judge in 2019, as a Recorder in 2020, as a salaried Judge of the War Pensions & Armed Forces Compensation Chamber in 2021, as a Deputy High Court Judge in 2021, and as a Diversity & Community Relations Judge in 2022.

The Lord Chief Justice has deployed him to the South Eastern Circuit, based at Maidstone Crown Court with effect from 18 October 2023.
Gareth Branston will be known as His Honour Judge Branston. He was called to the Bar (Gray’s Inn) in 1996. He was appointed as a Deputy District Judge (Magistrates’ Courts) in 2009, as a Recorder in 2012, and as a District Judge (Magistrates’ Courts) in 2013.

Alasdair Davidson
Sworn in to sit part time as a Lieutenant Bailiff of the Royal Court of Guernsey (under our Bailiff’s Letters Patent). This is an equivalent position to that of a Deputy High Court Judge in England and Wales.
