A quarto manuscript from the fifteenth century, written in Latin. This manuscript is on 150 leaves of paper, as opposed to many of our other manuscripts, which are on vellum and parchment. The text begins imperfectly and there is nothing apart from the title page to show that the work is by Roger Bacon. Roger Bacon (c.1219-c.1292) was a Franciscan friar, and there is no known relation between him and Francis Bacon (1561-1626).
The manuscript is bound in seventeenth century calf over wooden boards. It has been rebacked and has a brass chain staple.
