A folio manuscript from the late thirteenth or early fourteenth century, on 197 leaves. It is written in Latin and includes penwork initials in red and blue.

The whole of the volume, except the last tract, would seem to have been copied by Brother Ralph Wyche; the writing seems to be from the end of the fourteenth century. MS11 was also copied by the same hand. The last tract is by a different hand and is from the middle of the thirteenth century. It is a rare volume, produced at the Franciscan convent in Chester.

The manuscript is bound in seventeenth century calf. It is re-covered and has a brass chain staple. There is a mark from a previous chain attachment at the foot of the first leaf.

More information can be found in A Catalogue of the Ancient Manuscripts Belonging to the Honourable Society of Gray’s Inn by Alfred Horwood, published 1869.
